Calabria is Italy’s unspoiled gem. It constitutes Italy’s “toe”, bordering to Basilicata in the north and Sicily in the west, Tyrrhenian Sea in the west and the Ionian Sea in the east. The landscape is dramatic and there are plenty of exciting and delightful towns. The coast is 750 km long and the nicest part is “Costa Degli Dei”.
The country is mountainous with three national parks; Parco Nazionale dell’Aspromonte in the south which is closest to the apartment, Parco Nazionale del Pollino to the north and Parco Nazionale della Sila in the middle. Sila and Aspromonte offers skiing in the winter. Webcam Silabergen. The nature experiences are varying. For those interested in culture there are many historic sites, museums and buildings to visit.
For those interested in golf there is a 9-hole golf course 30 kilometer from the apartment.
Calabria is one of Italy’s poorest provinces and therefore not exploited as the north of Italy where you can barely make it down to the water because of all the hotels and private beaches. Here all the beaches public and mass tourism is unknown. Even the “autostrada” is free of charge. The price level is comparatively low.
The climate is very pleasant. Water temperature is bath friendly in November. The mid summer is often a bit cooler than in the north as the whole landscape is surrounded by the sea.
