Borgo Croce was for many years a forgotten and depopulated place. The population had largely moved to other parts of Italy to make a living and have a better life.
In 2020, Maria Grazia Chirico, and a number of friends who loved the small village, decided to try to turn the village into a small tourist attraction.
They wanted to create an attraction by using brushes and paint to create murals on many of the houses as well as some other installations and decorations.
Through their work, in a few years, they have managed to create a tourist attraction that is appreciated by many tourists and is reviving the streets of Borgo Croce.
Visiting Borgo Croce is a suitable half-day excursion, but in combination with another destination, such as the city of Reggio Calabria or the ski resort of Gambarie, both of which are nearby, it can be a rewarding full-day excursion.
Distance to Borgo Croce is around 100 km. Directions.
