Of course, it is okay to shop for food and drinks in the local shops in Zambrone, but they are small with a small selection and not very cheap.
Pizzo is by far the best when it comes to shopping for food and you only have to go to one single street, the main street Via Nazionale (it’s called Strada Statale 18 at the beginning when you come from Lamezia).
There are at least four good supermercato, one of which is brand new from 2018. When you come from the north (Lamezia, you should take the upper road in Pizzo, not to the ocean) and passing under the highway, you only drive a few hundred meters. On the left side there is a brand new Eurospin discount store with a good selection and low prices.
If you continue a few hundred meters, you will reach a shopping mall, L’Aquilone Parco Commerciale, with several shops, MD Market. MD has the same style as Eurospin with a good selection of food, own products and low prices.
If you continue a few hundred meters towards the center of Pizzo you will reach a parking lot on the right side. There is Qui Discount in the corner of the parking lot. Also a discount store.
A little further towards the center opposite an Esso petrol station lies a more traditional Italian supermercati, Corigliano. They have a normal range often with a good price on prosciutto.
As you move on to Tropea and Zambrone, out of the center of Pizzo, there is a COOP on the right. There is also a China shop in the same area.
If you want to shop in large shopping centers and hundreds of shops and supermarkets, you can go to Due Mari in Lamezia or Vibo Center on the outskirts of Vibo Valentia.
